Bio
Alexander Fitzpatrick is a lecturer in public policy and a core member of the Centre for Public Policy and Administration (CPPA) at Queen's University Belfast. Alexander’s research examines transparency policies, lobbying, and regulation, as he seeks to understand how lobbyists strategise and how regulations shape these behaviours. As an Associate Fellow, Alexander continues to undertake research as part of the 'Negotiating a Turbulent World' Theme, researching the role of interest groups in affecting the policy coherence of post-Brexit trade.
Alexander completed his PhD at University College London’s Department of Political Science and School of Public Policy in 2024, researching how lobbyists and policymakers strategically consume information as part of the lobbying process, and how state context guides these behaviours in a comparative perspective. His research profile largely focuses on state-society relations, and how these relations are regulated.
