UK goods exports to EU drop by £3bn since Brexit, research finds (The Grocer)

Published 10 December 2024

This article in The Grocer quotes analysis from the CITP's Briefing paper 17 - An EU-UK SPS Agreement: The perils and possibilities of (re)alignment. Our study shows that exports of UK food goods to the EU have fallen by 16% compared with pre-Brexit averages. This amounts to £2.8bn fewer exports each year heading from Britain to the EU’s single market. Our research also found that trade flows showed no signs of returning to previous levels since Britain officially left the EU in 2021.
