Is it really true that Brexit has had no harmful effects?

L. Alan Winters considers a recent paper by Graham Gudgin, Julian Jessop and Harry Western (GJW) and provides a response to their points in four areas: estimating the effects of Brexit on GDP, investment, trade and sterling. Whilst the GJW paper raises some legitimate questions, Professor Winters shows that the authors cherry-pick evidence, a criticism they make of others, and that the paper is diffused with their pro-Brexit ideology. They have not made their case and nor can they find any evidence that Brexit is helping the UK economy.
