Bio

Sung-Ju Wu was a researcher within the Centre for Inclusive Trade Policy (CITP) and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the School of Economics, University of Nottingham from September 2024 to August 2025. Sung-Ju joined the Institute of Economics, Academia Sinica as an Assistant Research Fellow in the autumn of 2025. He completed his PhD in economics at Duke University in 2024.

Sung-Ju's main research fields are international trade and economic development, with a focus on firm investment and trade participation decisions across space and the resulting welfare impacts. His job market paper investigates the welfare implication of the US-China trade war in Vietnam when foreign-owned manufacturers repatriate their profits.
