Pinar Gunes

Bio

Pinar Gunes is a Lecturer at the University of Sussex and a member of the Centre for Inclusive Trade Policy (CITP). She leads on the development of a new Postgraduate course in Applied Trade Policy at CITP. Pinar is a specialist in international trade policy and her research focuses on the welfare effects of trade shocks, labour market effects of trade, digital trade, and the impact of digitalisation on trade. Her recent research has focused on the quantification of trade effects of digitalisation and digital trade policies on trade and how global market entry status affects wage premia. She has published in reputable academic journals and written working papers on trade policy. She also has extensive experience working in international organisations such as the International Labour Organisation and the World Bank. Prior to joining the University of Sussex, she served as a Trade Policy Analyst at the OECD. She holds a PhD from ETH Zurich and an MSc from the University of Lausanne.
